Getting to Calgary

Calgary is a major international airport, so you should have no problem booking a direct flight from most major centers in the US or Canada. If travelling within Canada you will require picture ID only, if travelling from the United States you will be required to travel with a valid passport. It is recommended that you arrive the day before your first scheduled day of fishing. Various modes of transportation to the hotel are available including limousine service, van shuttle and taxi.

Iron Bow highly recommends Hotel Blackfoot, we have had a good working relationship with them for years. Calgary is a metropolitan city so if you prefer a different style of accommodations they can be found.

Climate and Clothing

Calgary has a very diverse climate and things can change very quickly. Temperatures can vary greatly from day to day so it is important to bring clothing for every situation. We recommend having everything from sun shirts to a warm fleece jacket. Also important is to have a good waterproof rain jacket.

You will be required to have a valid license at the time that the guide picks you up. These can be purchased on-line, a link is available under the Resources section of our page.
