Southwestern Alberta

With this last cold spell comming to an end, the crownest and surrounding area are still fishing productively. With the weather taking a turn for a better in the next week, we would expect both the bug life and fish to turn it up a notch. The river is still flowing relitevely clear, however the precipitation they may recieve today and tomorrow may dirty the water a little. So if you are thinking about making the trip this weekend or next week, it may just be worth the adventure!

The oldman river is still fishing good for spring conditions, water levels are low but visibility is great. The report for the oldman is very similar to that of the bow river again this week. Subsurfacing techniques such as nymphing and streamer fishing are proving to be more productive. However dont hesitate to throw a small BWO or midge pattern if you see any risers.
