With the river dropping down this week we saw ideal streamer fishing conditions, streamer green colored water with about a foot and a half of visibility. Anglers were having good luck stripping streamers and nymphing along the banks of the river. Not only were dark streamer patterns proving to be productive but lighter colors like white and tan were also proving to be productive. Looking forward due to the recent rain this last week the river has bumped up over 200 cms again. Although this isn't ideal, visibility is still fishable at around 12”. If you are looking to get out and tackle the high waters, tactics that have been working these past couple weeks are going to improve your odds. Work the first 10-15’ of water of the banks, and don't hesitate to watch the backwaters for cruising trout.
